Frequently Asked Questions
This depends on the Telco you choose to use and their coverage which you would need to check before purchasing
a Sim Card from them.
Some Telcos use limited coverage such as Aldi Mobile which in the metropolitan area works reasonable well, it does not
work well in regional areas as they only use the Telstra Wholesale Network and not their Full Network.
Our New Sim Cards (which will be available soon) use the Entire Telstra Network and as such give a much better
Reception in regional and metropolitan areas.
The Tracker uses 33mah so your average car battery will keep it running for 2 – 3 weeks however,
if you don’t use the vehicle regularly then we would recommend hooking it up to a trickle charger
to ensure the battery charge is maintained.
Some Models use different Frequencies from each other such as 4G LTE, LTE-M or LTE-M1 and as such
you would need to check the Frequencies of your Tracker with those of your preferred Telco/Carrier
in order to make sure they are compatible with your Tracker.
For Aldi Mobile, once you have activated the Sim Card you will receive an Email saying your
device has been activated and your Account Number and New Mobile Phone Number will be
included in the email.
You can use the tracker on any device which has a 12 - 36 volt battery.
The tracker has a small inbuilt battery which will run for up to two hours. As soon as the battery
is disconnected or becomes low the tracker will send an alert to the registered users Mobile
Phone.
The CD Rom which comes with the unit has a Quick Start Guide, Full Product Manual, List of All
Commands and both the Android and iOS Apps on it. We suggest starting with the Quick Start
Guide as it will show you most of the things you need to know but if after reading the

All Band Information can be found on our Website by clicking on the Tracker you are interested in and scrolling down
to Item 1. You will find a listing on all the Frequencies that particular Tracker uses however, they do vary between different
Trackers so please make sure you check compatibility thoroughly before purchasing
The cost of running a Tracker varies from Telco Provider to Telco Provider and is not controlled by Radar One
in any way and as such, Radar One cannot be held responsible for changes, modifications or removal of services
provided by any Third Party Telco which may in turn affect the operation of the Tracker.
This is NOT a fault with the Tracker but is determined by which frequencies your preferred Telco uses and the
compatibility of those frequencies with the Tracker which you would have to check before choosing any Telco.
Although to date we have been running the Trackers using Aldi Mobile $17.00 annual mobile plan we have now
been advised that they are changing their 4G Frequencies and as such their coverage may be affected, mainly in
regional areas, and may not work for some Trackers but this cannot be confirmed/tested until the 3G shutdown
on August 31st 2024.
Aldi Mobiles policy states that their Sim Cards are not to be used for M2M (machine to machine) purposes and
They have started getting stricter on this policy hence why we have arranged a new option for Radar One customers.
Radar One will also be offering a new Annual Data/SMS Sim Card for $60.00 per annum which uses Telstra’s
Full Network, not just their Wholesale Network such as what Aldi Mobile use. This Sim is also cheaper to run than
A Long Life Sim Card from Telstra which has an minimum annual fee of $70.00.

Generally, to within 5 - 10 meters, however this may vary slightly due to weather conditions etc.
There are 3 ways to track your vehicle, via the Mobile Phone APP included on the CD Rom, Via
our Tracking Website or by using SMS to send commands to the device.
Although you have received the Activation Email it still takes the system between 2 - 4 hrs to
actually cycle your Sim Card into the system. To test if the Sim Card is actually Activated simply
send the following SMS to the unit status# and wait for a reply, this normally takes less than 30
seconds, once you receive a reply your device should be operational however if you still have
problems, please email us at [email protected]
You can have as many trackers linked to the same account as you like, they will simply show up
on the main screen and you just click the one you wish to view.
The unit is capable of both GPS and LBR (Triangulation) tracking modes. LBR is used when the
GPS Signal is low or out of range. If you only want to get GPS Signals, you can turn off the LBR by
sending this command gps,0# via SMS to the Trackers Phone Number.
